Thulhagiri Island Resort: Worth the Budget Maldivian Getaway
My site has been inaudible for quite some time. I must admit. lol!
And before I can make this site up-to-date, guess it’s time to start working on every single backlog post I have. Sorry! haha
First on the list is my review on Thulhagiri Resort & Spa in one of the pristine islands of Maldives. I am still receiving queries on where we spent our Maldivian Getaway.
So here’s everything I could say about the resort with a little bit of drama. lol! Most people say that Maldives is a honeymoon destination but it can also be a good vacation place for a group of good friends sharing the same interest on travelling and beaches. Here’s where we spent our Maldivian Paradise getaway, Thulhagiri Island Resort. Click link for booking.
The moment we exited the Arrival doors of Male International Airport, I already can see the turquoise blue ocean from a distance. I was giggling non-stop, too excited perhaps. There were many counters of different resorts and as instructed by the resort staff, we have to go straight to counter 15. Voila! Found our resort counter in less than a minute. I guess that explains my excitement. haha! Then it took us another 25-minutes speedboat ride going to the resort from the Airport. Welcome to Thulhagiri Island Resort and Spa. Our welcome drink, Cheers!Everything was worth it! My expectations were met. The reviews I’ve read were glowing, but they didn’t over-promise. It’s everything what we wanted it to be. Everyday, we get ourselves to enjoy the crystal clear waters around the island and there was never a dull moment when there were such abundant sea-life & great coral reef. I love our over-the-water bungalow. It was clean, spacious, and has a glass-covered coffee table that you could look through to see the lagoon over which the bungalow rests and be delighted by the tropical fish galore. It doesn’t even need a private small pool at the balcony which you often see at some luxury resorts because the lagoon itself is already so beautiful, you can just take your steps down the ladder and swim directly on that crystal clear sea. They do have beach rooms available on the island. But do yourself a favor. Stay a couple of nights in an over-water bungalow. It’s like you’re living atop an aquarium or, perhaps, like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Sleeping on the water bungalow and keeping the balcony door open for the sound of the waves and breeze from the sea is definitely the one you wouldn’t want to miss.Of-course, they also have infinity pools while you enjoy the view of the bungalows over the brilliant turquoise waters. Here’s the best of all, you could run endlessly or soak up the sun till you get tanned in their huge white shore. When I say huge, I mean it. lol!As you roam around the huge Island, you’ll see lots of little blue/white, yellow&green parrots’ nest on mostly all the trees. Small little bird houses made from coconut husk can be seen all around the perimeter of the island.
The resort offers many activities you can enjoy. Some of it are, private resort hopping, scuba diving, dolphin watching and a lot more.We booked full-board so we had breakfast-lunch-dinner buffet everyday. It has enough selection of food – their grilled fish during dinner buffet was so fresh & delicious. All the staff were helpful too (especially the ones at the restaurant). This I call a perfect paradise holiday. Relaxing at our private balcony overlooking the turquoise blue ocean is indeed a one of a kind experience, swimming at the crystal clear waters while enjoying the sight of the colorful fishes is simply amazing and eating non-stop with everyday’s buffet, oh gosh! Felt I was living in a dream. I couldn’t get enough of it. And I’m reminiscing as if it was only yesterday.
